Dear 7th-12th Grade Parents/Guardians
The third quarter for the Carmi-White County Unit #5 School District ends on Friday, March 5th. In order to plan for the fourth quarter, we are asking parents to pick their fourth quarter instructional option for their student(s) at this time.
If you are NOT making a change in the current learning preference (F/F or Remote) no action is needed. If you ARE making a change please make sure to notify the Jr/Sr. High by Friday, March 5th. The last day to switch to F/F learning from Remote Learning will be on Friday, March 12th.
In-person instruction is highly encouraged. Please check your student's current grades before making this decision. The district is very concerned that many students who have chosen the remote option are not engaging and are at risk of failing. This could result in grade level retention and/or lack of high school credits towards graduation. Remote learning is rigorous, time consuming, and assignments are graded. If you choose the remote option, you will be asked to stay in this setting for the rest of the school year after the March 12th deadline.
