We are proud of our community and C-WC #5 family for being able to provide in-person education for almost a full semester. With COVID-19 surging, we would like to remind families that we will continue to educate our students face-to-face as long as we can, but we can only do so with the help of our families.
Please keep students at home until they are 48 hours symptom free without medication.
If anyone living in your home is tested for COVID, please quarantine all members of the home until the results come back.
Have the doctor’s office fax the school a copy of the results.
The district website (www.carmischools.org) is updated when there is a positive COVID case in the district. This information can be accessed by clicking on the Coronavirus tab.
Thank you for your assistance in educating our students.

Carmi-White County Unit #5
REGISTRATION REMINDER
The Carmi-White County Unit #5 School District will have in-person registration on Thursday, August 6th from 9am to 7pm at each building for any family who has not already completed the online registration at www.carmischools.org.
Since registration for the 2020-2021 school year will be solely online, staff will be available in each building to assist with online registration and payment via cash or check. Families with students in multiple buildings will be able to register all students in one home at one building.
Parents/guardians registering in person must comply with all IDPH (Illinois Department of Public Health) requirements including a COVID symptom self-certification at the door, face masks worn in the building, proper social distancing, and no more than 50 people in one space. Parents/guardians registrering are welcome to call ahead to check current occupancy.
As soon as the Return-to-School Surveys have been completed, building administrators will be able to assign classroom teachers and schedules. Once assigned, parents/guardians will be able to access teachers and schedules via the Teacher Ease portal and account used to register. Guardians will need an active email account to access the Teacher Ease registration portal.

Our NEW online registration opens TODAY! Please view the online registration directions prior to registering on our district website.
Students can be enrolled via a registration link on our district's website, app, and Facebook pages. We encourage parents/guardians to register online, including payment. All classroom fees, lock & agenda fees, and Chromebook insurance fees have been combined to one nominal fee. For most buildings, this has resulted in a reduced registration fee for families.
Since registration for the 2020-2021 school year will be solely online, staff will be available to assist with online registration and payment via cash or check, on Thursday, August 6th in each building from 9am to 7pm. While registering your student in person, masks or face coverings will be required, and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
In addition to online registration, please remember to fill out the Return-to-School Survey to let us know if your child(ren) will be attending in-person, remotely, or have chosen another option if you have not done so already.
