Attention Freshman and Senior parents: Freshmen must have a physical examination (dated within 12 months of the first day of school) on file with the nurse’s office. Seniors must have proof of (2) doses of meningococcal conjugate vaccine. Students who do not have this documentation on file with the nurse’s office will not be able to attend school after October 15th. If you have any questions, please contact the nurse’s office.

A sack lunch and breakfast will be provided, free of charge to any enrolled student. This can either be sent home with the student on Tuesday afternoon, or picked up by a parent or guardian on Wednesday between the hours of 9:00 am and noon. Seniors who signed up will be taking the SAT on Wednesday, Sept 23 in the auditorium. All participants will need to be at the front door of the school between 7:30-7:45 to be screened and ready to test at 8:00 a.m. Please bring a snack and a drink. The test will not finish until close to 1 and there will be no lunch break, only snack breaks. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Gunter.
Juniors who would like to sign up for the PSAT/NMSQT may do so on the sign up sheet shared by Dr. Gunter. The deadline to sign up to take the test is October 7 and the test will be administered October 14. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Gunter.

Letters from the Carmi Elves and CWC School Workers are being sent home with every student, and parents that have remote learners will receive letters through the mail. This program is asking families to provide information about needs the family currently has. This program does not provide assistance for Christmas gifts. Information regarding Christmas assistance will be provided in late October or early November. Last week the National School Lunch Program, through the US Department of Agriculture and the ISBE, announced that they have approved a waiver for all students to receive a free breakfast and a free lunch each day through the end of December. Beginning Tuesday, September 8, 2020 Carmi-White County Schools will be participating in the Summer Food Service Program allowing all enrolled students, whether face-to-face or remote, to receive these meals during school days. Please keep in mind that the waiver does not eliminate any lunch/breakfast debt that is currently owed nor does it include any a la carte, extra milk, or extra food items outside of the standard meal. #BulldogPride
