We are excited to see all of our CWCHS students tomorrow, August 14th for the first day of student attendance. Students will need to report to the Auditorium by 8:05 am. CWCHS students will need to enter the building at one of two locations: They can enter the building using the Main Entrance of the Auditorium via Main St. or the Main Back Entrance via the main back parking lot. Students ARE NOT required to wear a certain color on the first day, but we always encourage them to wear Maroon and White. For tomorrow only, students will be allowed to have their cell phones throughout the entire day. Freshmen will receive their new Chromebooks tomorrow, but 10th - 12th grade students do not need to bring them until Thursday, 8/15. All high school students will need to be in attendance for the entire first day. We will dismiss students at 2:15 pm on 8/14, 8/15, & 8/16. We are looking forward to a great school year!!!

CWCHS Seniors who have purchased a parking permit are allowed to park in the main back parking lot. Please refer to the 2024-2025 Carmi-White County Student Handbook for Parking for policies and rules. You will be expected to observe the parking policies stated therein. In addition, do not park in any space that is not lined for parking, HANDICAP PARKING, NO PARKING, or VISITOR PARKING. Do not park in front of the trash dumpster or block another vehicle (double parking). Only those vehicles with approved parking permits are to be parked on the school parking lot. Tags are to be hung facing outward, so they may be read from the front of the vehicle. Seniors should have received an email with a parking form. Seniors who have not purchased a parking permit will need to complete the form and see Mrs. Norris in the attendance office. CWCHS Underclassmen who will be driving themselves to school will need to use caution when parking on College Boulevard, Renshaw Ave., 7th Street, 9th Street, or on the backside of the Football stadium. All high school students will need to be in attendance for the entire first day. We will dismiss students at 2:15 pm on 8/14, 8/15, & 8/16.

CWCHS picture retakes will be Wednesday, September 4th.

Correction: Attention CWCHS Athletes! Don't forget all athletes must complete concussion testing either Wednesday, August 7th or Thursday, August 8th. Athletes may come in at 8am, 9am, or 10am on either day. Testing will be completed in the auditorium. Please enter the building using the main back entrance. All sophomores, juniors, and seniors are required to bring their school Chromebook (charged) to complete the test. Freshman will be provided a chromebook. ALL athletes must complete this requirement prior to participating in their sport. Although some athletes do not participate in a fall sport, it is still required to complete the baseline test.

This year, we have two days when student athletes may complete their baseline concussion test; August 7th, 2024 and August 8th, 2024. There are three available times for athletes to come in: 8am, 9am, and 10am. Testing will be completed in the auditorium. Please enter the building using the main back entrance. Class of 2025! Tux and drape pictures are tomorrow (July 29th) from 9 am - 3 pm. Girls should wear a tank or cami they can easily pull the straps off the shoulder under the drape. For boys, white shirts are available, but you are welcome to wear your own. Tux jackets will be provided. All pictures will be taken in Mrs. Orr's room (216). Picture form is linked below. Attention Class of 2024! Carmian is hosting a signing party just for the Class of 2024 on Tuesday, July 30th at 103 Grounded in Grace Party Room from 5-6. Class of 2024 graduates who can't make it to the signing party to pick up their yearbooks on Tuesday night will be able to pick them up from the high school office starting on Wednesday. There will be a limited number of extra copies available to purchase for $55 for those who didn’t preorder. **All other yearbooks will be distributed on the first day of school.

Attention parents of Jr High and High School fall athletes: Registration for fall sports is open on Final Forms! Just a reminder that physicals are required for our student-athlete entering 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades for the 2024-25 School Year! ALL students entering 6th and 9th grades must have an IDPH school physical. No sports physical is required for 6th and 9th grade student-athletes. Please contact the Jr/Sr High School office if you have any questions!

Reminder: Permission slips for the Junior class trip to Holiday World are due today.

Time is running out to order a 2023-24 yearbook! Orders must be placed with Josten’s online or with Mrs. Jordan by the end of the school year. The cost is $55 and the books will be delivered in August.

2024 CWCHS Graduation Update: Due to inclement weather and the wet conditions of our outdoor facilities, the CWCHS 2024 graduation ceremony has been moved indoors. The ceremony will now take place in McDougal-Evers gymnasium at 7 pm. Doors will open at 6pm.

2024 CWCHS Graduation Ceremony Update: Weather permitting, we are still planning to hold our graduation ceremony outside at Harrington-Jeffries Sports Complex @ 7pm on Tuesday, May 14th. We will continue to monitor the weather situation and provide additional updates.

Due to the threat of inclement weather, Carmi-White County Unit #5 will have a 30-minute early dismissal for bus riders only- today, Wednesday, May 8th. Bus routes will run 30 minutes earlier today. CWC Brownsville bus and pickup times will remain the same. Regular Dismissal and pickup times will remain the same for all other CWC schools. All after school activities have been canceled. Please call the school office if you have any questions or need assistance. We want to make sure we keep all of our students, staff, and families safe and we will continue to monitor the weather. We will share in adjustments in dismissals that need to be made in order to keep everyone safe. #BulldogPride
